UK-based Film Seekers has acquired international rights to Thom Arizmendi and Austin Stewart’s psychological thriller Wake, starring Fivel Stewart.

Wake follows aspiring actress Lake who is desperate for the lead role in a classic movie remake and tracks down the lead of the original film, Corin, who is now a mysterious recluse. Strange occurrences quickly turn the meeting into a nightmare as Lake soon learns Corin’s acting methods may not be as innocent as they first seem.

Starring Fivel Stewart, star of hit Netflix series Atypical and The Recruit and starring opposite Sandra Oh in Umma, Cody Sheldon and rediscovering Susan Reno who starred in The Glimmer Man, Living Out Loud in the 90’s, Wake was written by Elizabeth H. Vu (Echo 8, The Perception) and is produced by DBS Films. The film is co-directed by Thom Arizmendi & Austin Stewart.

“We are delighted to be working on this real gem of a film that features powerful and unnerving performances from its leads Fivel Stewart and Susan Reno” says Ethan Cross, Sales & Acquisitions Coordinator at Film Seekers who initiated conversation on the film.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be teaming up with Film Seekers to share this mysterious and moving film with buyers and audiences worldwide,” producer Daniel Blake Smith commented.

The deal was negotiated by Caroline Couret-Delègue for Film Seekers and by Nick Feild and Daniel Blake Smith for DBS Films.

Wake is completed and will be first introduced to buyers at the Marché du Film.
